The Tree

The trees were usual enough; they had
Deep green leaves that got lighter in the sun,
Long dark shadows and even a small
Crooked wire fence surrounding them.
My thinking times were up there.
Thoughts surrounded that tree
I did what most people do in trees
I climbed, built huts
But mostly I drew what I saw
Doing what my imagination let me

New Flag Designs

On my flag I have a red, black and White fern to Maori people and New Zealand; also I have a Union Jack and cross through the middle. The cross was for England and the Union Jack was for the United Kingdom. A flower was put in the bottom Corner to show the Pacific Islands. I used the cross, Union Jack and the flower to show where some people came from before they came to New Zealand and to show that New Zealand is a migrant country.

Our Earthquake Survival Kits

We have made posters showing what supplies you need in an Earthquake or Natural Disaster. We designed these posters because we were learning about what we needed to do in an emergency or Earthquake. If you had to leave your home, and you had the supplies in our kits, you would have food and water and be able to survive better.

The reason why we have been looking at survival kits was because we have been looking at what has happened in Christchurch and discussing if we would be ready if an Earthquake was to happen here.
