60th Anniversary of Everest being Summited

We are dressed up today because 60 years ago Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit of Mt Everest. Edmund Hillary helped the people of Nepal by helping them build homes, schools, houses, roads, hospitals and train teachers. Sir Ed is one of New Zealand's heroes and most famous sons.

Costume for production

For our item in the production we are dressing as Trampers. Black shorts and plain thirst with polly props and leggings beneath, as well as a plain beanie.
A few of the Year 4s are also Extras in other parts, so their leggings and polly props need to be black.
If we can have them at school in a named plastic bag by Friday it would be awesome. If you need shorts for weekend sports it is fine, but could you still bring them so we can make sure they are appropriate, then you can take them home again.
Please email me if you have a question.

Bob Bickerton's Friday afternoon performance

Great to have Bob Bickerton back to perform to us again.  He is such a talented musician and it seemed that he has the ability to play any instrument.  Parents, you may remember him as the man who wrote our last production - Bush Creek.

Mark Morrison from Adventure Consultants

Hawea has the most climbers that have summited Everest outside Nepal.
Mark talked us through a video diary of an expedition to the top of Everest- 90 days from start to the top.
